Golfing With The Bishop

The Michigan Southwest Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction (SW3)  Scholarship Foundation was established to encourage potential college students to pursue their educational dreams in order to achieve educational success. The SW3 Jurisdictional Scholarship Foundation wishes to expand on Bishop Samuel Duncan Jr.’s ideology, steadfastness, and fondness for education by making scholarships available to assist students in their pursuit of higher education.

The Southwest Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Scholarship Foundation was established in 2004 by Bishop Samuel Duncan, Jr., based on his strong belief in education and tremendous will to see students succeed in academics and not just athletics.  Bishop Duncan stresses that students learn the meaning of life through spirituality and education.  He admonishes students to use their creative abilities to solve problems instead of violence. The Bible states in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Education is the way to go.
